Roodepoort police’s stop-and-search operation yields results

Suspects will appear in the Roodepoort Magistrates' Court

During the period from 29 October to 1 November, the Roodepoort Police carried out numerous stop-and-search operations, which resulted in 29 arrests.

The suspects, aged between 16 and 50, were arrested on various charges, including shoplifting, malicious injury to property, theft, crimen injuria, possession of drugs, contravention of the Gauteng Liquor Act, possession of suspected stolen property, assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm, common robbery, common assault (domestic violence), attempted robbery and business robbery.

All the suspects were charged and detained at the Roodepoort Police Station and will be appearing in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 2 November.
