With summer in full force, Roodepoort residents who don’t have their own pools to cool off in can go to one of local municipal swimming pools. Roodepoort has five swimming pools, all easily accessible to residents.
Davidsonville’s swimming pool is situated on Mitchell Street, Davidsonville. Operating hours are from 10am to 5.45pm and entrance is free. For more information, contact Priscilla Maliwane on 011 763 8596.
Florida Lake’s swimming pool, situated on the corner of Albertina Sisulu Drive and Fourth Avenue, Florida Lake, is open from 10am to 5.45pm. The entrance fee is R8,50 for adults and for children it is R4,50. For more information, contact Gcina Mncunu on 011 672 2038.
Florida North’s swimming pool is located on Ontdekkers Road, Florida North. Operating hours are from 10am to 5.45pm. The entrance fee is R8,50 for adults and R4,50 for children. The contact person is Veronica Smith, who can be reached on 011 672 5088.
Little Falls Pleasure Resort, situated on Fall Street, Little Falls is open from 7am to 5.45pm. The entrance fee is R33 for adults, R19 for children, R33 per car and R164 for a bus. For more information, contact Amos Tibeila on 011 958 5162.

The MMC for Community Development, councillor Nonhlanhla Sifumba, has urged the ward councilors to emphasise the need to take care of these facilities, to own them and refrain from vandalising them.
