Maragon earns top four spot at National Eisteddfod

Maragon as a school achieved an overall 4th place, a fitting reward for the top efforts put in by the learners.

While a number of learners entered the National Eisteddfod competition this year, only a few were handed an invitation to the Gauteng West Showcase on 24 October at the Roodepoort Theatre.

Jordan Good entertained the audience with her comic monologue, Sweaty-pits Patsy and Oluchi Agim with her vocal solo, Halleluja. Both of these budding performers received a medal as well as an Ambassador Award for their stellar performances.

Three more Maragon students were presented with awards for top performances at the showcase on 24 October. Tiago Coelho was named an item winner for his prepared speech, Li-Ané Pitzer was named an item winner for her comic monologue, while Lerai Rakoditsoe was a category winner for her dramatic monologue.
