Accidents on slippery Christiaan de Wet leave three injured

Two separate vehicles crashed down embankments after veering off a wet, slippery Christiaan de Wet Road.

Three people sustained minor to moderate injuries when their vehicles crashed down an embankment along Christiaan de Wet Road in two separate accidents last night.

In the first incident, ER24 paramedics attended to an incident along Christiaan de Wet Road where a vehicle had crashed down an embankment. According to an ER24 press release, two people were found near the vehicle at the bottom of the embankment.
Fortunately, both escaped with only minor injuries and declined to be transported to the hospital. The incident occurred shortly after 5pm.

In the second incident shortly after 8 pm, paramedics arrived on the scene where they found another vehicle down an embankment in the same vicinity as the first. A woman, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was found inside her vehicle having sustained moderate injuries.

ER24’s rescue team used ropes to access her and hoist her to safety where she could be further assessed. She was treated on scene and later transported to Helen Joseph Hospital for further care.
