Chill Out with Roodepoort Record and Hearts and Crafts

It is time to chill out before the festive frenzy strikes

Bookings for our Readers Day Chill Out launch are picking up nicely. As we are limited to 50 seats we suggest you book your space early.

But wait. Some of you may not know what our Chill Out days are about, so let’s start at the very beginning. We want to get to know you better and we want you to get to know us and some of the wonderful people in our community better. So we have started Chill Out mornings. It’s your opportunity to make new friends, learn some new skills, eat some scrumptious food and just, well, chill out before the festive frenzy strikes.

We’ve put together a wonderful morning. You will learn to make bows and boxes like a pro and will be able to wrap gifts like one too. Matador Luggage (Cradlestone and Clearwater) will show you how to pack your suitcase when going on leave and which suitcases are best to use for what.

You will meet a real-life Travel Counsellor, Lize Roodt, who will make any trip you take – near and far – an absolute pleasure. If you still need to book somewhere for a last minute break, why not give her a call on 076 703 5070.

Oh yes, there’s the most divine body butter to be made. You will be shown how and given the recipe.

Then there’s the goody bags. Magazines, books, pens, vouchers, miniature booze from Witpoortjie Liquor Store, (21 Main Reef Road) more vouchers, a bow- making thingamajig, a sample lotion plus recipe and much more more. That’s besides the lucky draw prizes. In fact, your goody bags are probably worth more than your entrance fee!

Besides enjoying yourselves, you will also be supporting a charity that really makes a difference. Cradle of Hope will receive a donation from us as well as the children’s gifts that form part of the entrance fee, so that we can help make their lives a little easier.

There will be a few tables with some Christmas or teachers’ gifts for you to buy as well.

The whole morning has been kindly sponsored by Usambara – the venue, the food, the teas and coffees. They really are the place to go to for any event, big or small.
