Monash students protest against the sale of their school
Students of Monash South Africa have started chanting outside their institution on Thursday, 20 September.
The peaceful protest of at least about 150 students taking part is prompted by the proposed acquisition of the school to education giants ADvTECH. This move has left many students disassified, some even weighing their future with the institution.
A detailed story about the deal was published in this week’s edition of the Roodepoort Northsider.
Neeraj Madzivanyika, the school’s SRC President, told Northsider that the protest is action against the sale of the institution.
