Councillor Meyer’s ‘Hands-On’ campaign

The campaign deals with service delivery issues and community-based problems.

Ward 85 councillor Sonja Meyer and the CoJ Urban Inspector, Doreen Mompati, along with some officials from the Johannesburg Roads Agency, conducted a joint operation to identify service problems which require attention from various departments of the City of Johannesburg.

This forms part of Sonja’s ‘Hands-On’ campaign, which deals with service delivery issues and community-based problems that require the city’s attention. On a monthly basis, Sonja and Doreen embark on a site visit to every suburb within the ward to identify areas that need basic services.

“The aim of monitoring the ward is to establish what the service delivery challenges are, so that I can deal with them by logging complaints or escalate the complaints to the relevant city departments and ensure that they are attended to,” said Sonja.
