Two people critically injured in Honeydew collision

According to ER24 spokesperson Ineke van Huyssteen, when ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene shortly after 3pm, they found two vehicles next to the road.

 

A collision between a light motor vehicle and a bakkie left two people with serious injuries and two others with minor injuries in Honeydew on 20 August.

The collision happened between Beyers Naudé Drive and Boland Road, during the afternoon.

According to ER24 spokesperson, Ineke van Huyssteen, when ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene shortly after 3pm, they found two vehicles next to the road.

“Upon further assessment, they found two men lying outside of a bakkie. It is believed that the two men were removed from the vehicle by bystanders. Paramedics found that both men had sustained serious injuries,” she said. “One of them was airlifted to hospital by the ER24 Oneplan medical helicopter.

“Two patients from the light motor vehicle sustained minor injuries. ER24, as well as Quick Response Service – QRS were on the scene and transported these patients to hospital for further medical care,” Ineke explained.

“The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not known to our paramedics, but police were on the scene for further investigations,” she concluded.
