These restaurants, whose staff danced and enjoyed the day with the villagers, have been treating the residents, many of whom are intellectually disabled, annually for Madiba Day.

Moira Short, the village’s fundraiser, thanked the businesses for continuously reaching out to them. “On behalf of Gateway Society, especially the Gateway Village, our extreme thanks goes to the Lone Wolf Spur at Randpark Ridge and Wild Eagle Spur at Ruimsig for the amazing support for feeding absolutely everyone at the village – over 220 people – for and in recognition of Madiba,” she humbly said.
