BCI Security has once again proved that everything in the community is taken care of under their watch.

This after their personnel assisted in the rescue of a cat that had become stuck in a tree on 9 July.

According to the security company, they received a call for assistance from Healing Hands Foundation and the SPCA about the cat that couldn’t get down from the tree.

“Our Operations Team was close by and went to see if they could assist.

The team was joined by our TRT Member and Technical Team and attempts were made to get to the cat but the ladders at our disposal were just too short to reach the stricken feline,” said Gary Jordaan, the company’s media liaison officer.

However, that was not their last resort. Gary added, “A member of the team went to the petrol station around the corner and spotted a local building contractor with a long ladder on the back of his bakkie. He approached the contractor and asked if he could borrow the ladder. Thankfully, the owner obliged and proceeded to the location.

“Two of the building contractor’s employees, with our TRT member, climbed the tree and after a few unsuccessful attempts, they managed to free the stuck cat.”

The cat was taken to the Roodepoort/ Krugersdorp SPCA for treatment.
