Pedestrians killed on N14 near Pinehaven

Regrettably, nothing could be done for them and they were declared dead on scene.

Shortly after 6pm yesterday, 4 July, Netcare 911 responded to an alleged hit-and-run incident on the N14 in the direction of Krugersdorp heading towards the Pinehaven intersection.

Netcare 911 and other emergency medical services found the bodies of two women in their 30s lying in the right-hand lane.

The driver of this vehicle allegedly hit the two women and sped off, crashing into another vehicle.

Paramedics assessed the two women and found that they had sustained fatal injuries and showed no signs of life.

Regrettably, nothing could be done for them and they were declared dead on scene.

Reports from the scene indicate that the driver knocked down the two women and drove away before colliding with another vehicle not too far from the scene. He then attempted to flee the scene on foot but was apprehended by bystanders.

The exact circumstances regarding the incident are not yet known, but local authorities were on the scene to investigate further.
