Members of the Johane Masowe Church were praying in a veld next to Randfontein Road when an unknown number of attackers tied up the men, raped two women and took valuables such as cellphones. Roodepoort Police Station spokesperson, Captain Nonhlanhla Kumahlo said details are still sketchy.
The police especially want to know why the congregation gathered in a veld at midnight to pray, which could obviously turn into a dangerous situation.

Kumahlo said despite speaking to one of the female victims, she is none the wiser. She said she also has trouble getting hold of the pastor, who allegedly was not present at the prayer gathering in question.
The suspects are still at large.
