Some educated and some arrested

While some officers curbed crime, Muthan said others in the cluster embarked on crime-awareness projects – educating the community on crime prevention.

 

Arrests totalling 140 were made by members of police stations within the West Rand Cluster between 25 to 30 June.

According to Honeydew Police spokesperson, Captain Balan Muthan, the suspects were arrested for various crimes in different parts of the precincts.

While some officers curbed crime, Muthan said others in the cluster embarked on crime-awareness projects – educating the community on crime prevention. “We had many crime-awareness projects during the week by educating communities. The members from Support Services continued by maintaining high visibility at shopping malls,” he explained.
