Four injured in weekend collision

Four people were left injured on Sunday, 17 June, following a collision between a taxi and light motor vehicle at the Beyers Naude Drive and Malope Road intersection in Randpark Ridge.
ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said his paramedics along with other services found the light motor vehicle on the centre median while the taxi was standing in the right-hand lane of the road.
Paramedics treated three people with moderate injuries and a fourth with more serious injuries. They provided the seriously injured man, believed to be in his 50s, with pain-relief medication,” Meiring explained.

Once treated, he said, the patients were transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment.
“The details surrounding this incident are not yet known, but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations,” Meiring concluded.
