Metrobus wont be operating till further notice

Negotiations between Metrobus and the Democratic Municipal and Allied Workers Union of South Africa (DEMAWUSA) still continue.

Due to ongoing violence and escalating threats, Metrobus is unable to guarantee the safety of its commuters, and will not be operating from Friday, 8 June till further notice.

This is because negotiations between Metrobus and the Democratic Municipal and Allied Workers Union of South Africa (DEMAWUSA) still continue as the parties have not reach an agreement as yet.

The South African Municipal Workers’ Union (SAMWU) and the Independent Municipal and Allied Trade Union (IMATU) constitute over 80 per cent of the work force and are not part of the strike.

Metrobus apologises for the inconvenience caused and advises commuters to make alternative travel arrangements while the company is trying to resolve the impasse.

For any queries, please contact the Metrobus call centre on: 0860 562 874.
