Family still looking for missing person

The family indicated that Shaun Hardman used to contact his family when he still had a job.

“We don’t know if he’s dead or alive,” the worried family of Shaun Hardman, who went missing last December, said in frustration.

As temperatures begin to drop and we usher in the winter season, Hardman’s distressed family wonders where he might be sleeping or receiving food since he last made contact with his family in April this year.

The 37-year-old’s cousin, Jannine Talbot, told Northsider that Hardman was once traceable and would call in once in a while when he worked in Randpark Ridge. “Until January, Shaun was on medical aid. That enabled his parents to confirm he was still alive, as the medical aid bill showed signs that he had used it,” she said.

The family has disclosed that Hardman was a drug addict and speculated that his addiction problem might have been the reason he decided to go AWOL.

Talbot said he was last traced to a park in Fairland, which was eventually cleaned out, causing him to move elsewhere.

Although the family believes he could be anywhere in the country, they also suspect he might still be in the Randburg, Fairland, Windsor or Honeydew areas, which he frequented.

Talbot added that they’ve explored many avenues to try and locate him. “We’ve opened a case at Honeydew Police Station, reported to the Pink Ladies, visited hospitals and mortuaries, but he’s nowhere to be found,” she explained.

Talbot further explained that Hardman has a four-year-old daughter and a family that cares about him.

Anyone with information about Hardman’s whereabouts can contact the Honeydew Police Station on 011 801 8400 and ask for Warrant Officer Mathaba.
