Willie Koekemoer, who complained about the issue of littering in and around Culembeeck Primary two weeks ago, sent the Record photos yesterday (14 May) to show the extent of the problem.
On a previous occasion Koekemoer, who resides opposite the school on Boren Street in Witpoortjie, said that the problem worsens when it rains or the wind blows. The photos he took after yesterday’s rain supported this claim. Koekemoer said he tried to speak to the school before and even offered to pay for wire mesh to be installed along the fence and at the entry and exit points of the drain, but the principal declined.

The Record phoned the principal of the school, Mpho Mnisi for comment, but she said she preferred to have a meeting in person rather than discussing the issue over the phone.
