Three suspects, allegedly part of a group of thugs that stole residents’ ATM cards at garages and shopping centres, were caught this morning (25 April). Illegal firearms were also confiscated.
The men became notorious when their white Mercedes-Benz was allegedly used in numerous armed and ATM robberies. This comes after their vehicle was spotted on Wilgerood Road and followed by officers of a security company. However, the officers lost track of the vehicle, but were informed about an incident at the Ridge Shopping Centre during which another resident’s bank card was stolen.
The three suspects were subsequently arrested.
According to reports the vigilance of residents and security companies contributed to the arrests.
