One left injured after accident outside Clearwater Mall

A man has been left critically injured after he was hit by a vehicle outside Clearwater Mall on 23 April.

A man was struck down by a light motor vehicle at the four-way junction at Clearwater Mall’s entrance on Hendrik Potgieter Road on 23 April.

According to ER24 spokesperson, Russell Meiring, paramedics found the man lying on the pavement when they arrived.

“ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find the pedestrian lying on the pavement with a light motor vehicle next to him,” Meiring said.

Meiring went on to say that paramedics found that the man had sustained a serious head injury, leaving him in a critical condition.

“The man was treated for his injuries and provided with advanced life support interventions,” Meiring said. He was transported to the Helen Joseph Provincial Hospital for urgent treatment after being stabilised on scene.

“The driver of the light motor vehicle fortunately escaped injury, although he was visibly shaken,” Meiring concluded.
