Accomplice arrested for involvement in car theft

A suspect was arrested for theft of a motor vehicle by the Florida Police on 18 April.

According to Sergeant Mpho More, Florida Police spokesperson, members of the Florida Vispol received a complaint of theft of a motor vehicle at the Zam Zam Caltex Garage on Ontdekkers Road in Delarey. “They swiftly responded to the complaint, but when they arrived, one suspect had already escaped with the car, leaving the other one to attempt to escape on foot.”

“The police and members of the community managed to catch the man who ran away on foot,” More explained.

The nabbed suspect had no choice but to tell on the accomplice. “He (the suspect) took the police to a flat in Westbury, where they found the second suspect. He in turn saw the police coming and ran away, leaving the car next to the block of flats,” she went on.

She added that the first suspect, who is 18, was arrested, but his accomplice remains on the run.
