Convicted rapist granted bail

Convicted rapist and former star musician, Sipho Ndlovu, commonly known as Brickz, has been granted bail of R80 000, pending his appeal against the rape conviction.

The musician made a court appearance on 9 March to make a bail application following an alleged successful petition to the High Court.
Brickz’s bid for bail was postponed to 20 March for a formal bail application in order for the State to prepare to counter his application

During the proceedings, Baloyi informed the court that Ndlovu was granted leave to appeal his conviction.
Last year, Ndlovu was sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment after he was found guilty of raping his then 16-year-old niece, in 2013.
