Floroma Easter Fête fairly successful

Day well supported despite bad weather

Floroma Old Aged Home’s annual Easter Fête was fairly successful, even though the weather did not play along.

“We have been holding the Easter Fête, or Easter store as it is also known, since about 1990, and it has always been very well supported by the community. This is one of our fundraising projects, and all the money raised is used to buy necessities for the home. Unfortunately, today’s cold, wet weather kept some visitors away, but, despite this, I am sure we could still say the day was successful,” said Joy Marsh, Floroma resident and fundraiser.

David Gush (Chairman of Floroma’s management) and Joy Marsh (Fundraising organiser).

There was a variety of stalls offering delicious cakes, puddings, pancakes and boerewors rolls, as well as a book stall. There were also quite a few handcrafted items on display. “The cakes were provided by the residents, the puddings by the Moth Chilly Trench Shellhole and the books by the home’s committee members,” Joy said.
