Local lass through to next level of beauty pageant

Ballet her passion.

Twenty-one-year-old Karmia Postma has qualified for the next level in the Miss Eagle SA beauty pageant, and is now the holder of the title of brand ambassador.

The pageant aims to empower women through beauty, brains and purpose. Contestants have to do charity work in the run-up to the big night on 15 December. Currently, Karmia is considering volunteering at Community Led Animal Welfare. (Claw). “I would like to rally the community to come and spend the day with me at Claw once I have some dates,” she said.

“The pageant is a golden opportunity to do charity work, since I don’t want to go through life merely surviving,” she said.

Karmia’s biggest passion is ballet – she has not only been a ballerina for the past 16 years, she teaches this dance form. Currently she is studying the Russian style called Vagnova. Her ballet has taken her to countries such as Latvia, Kazakhstan, Russia and the United States.

Karmia asked the public to vote for her for the Public Choice Award by texting her name to 35334. SMSes cost R3,00.
