Disbelief – Lightning strike ignites tree

Motorists who drove past the tree on Jim Fouché Drive took photos and videos of the burning tree and shared them on various social media pages to create awareness.

Like Moses when God appeared to him in the burning bush, residents of Weltevreden Park were left shocked after witnessing a tree being razed after a lightning strike during the storm on the evening of 5 March.

It believed that electrical cables connecting to nearby properties were damaged; however, no injuries were reported. Anyone with more information or who witnessed the burning tree can share their stories in our comment section.
