Woman airlifted after serious accident

Exact circumstances surrounding accident not yet known.

A woman sustained serious injuries when the vehicle she was in collided with a truck at the junction of Ontdekkers Road and Starling Street in Roodepoort yesterday evening, 7 March.

When ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene just before 6pm, another medical service was already in attendance. Further assessment led the paramedics to a woman who had sustained serious injuries. She was airlifted to hospital by medical helicopter for urgent medical care.

The driver of the truck escaped the accident unharmed.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not yet known to the paramedics at the time of releasing this information.
