Folk festival for Black Eagles

First-time folk festival hosted in Roodepoort.

On Freedom day, 27 April, Roodepoort will see its first-ever folk music festival.

According to one of the organisers and artists, Justin Serrao, “The first-ever Roodepoort Folk Festival brings you an amazing lineup of local artists on a beautiful day out with your family and friends at one of Johannesburg’s most beautiful places – the Walter Sisulu Botanical Garden. You can feel good about yourselves because part of your ticket goes towards our local breeding pair of Black Eagles and the garden. It will be a great way to spend Freedom Day.”

All ages will be welcome and the event kicks off at 10am. Tickets are R220 and are available at https://www.RoodepoortFolkFestival.co.za.

The lineup includes:

• Wonderboom

• Justin Serrao

• El Cantate

• Cindy Alter (from 80s hit band Clout)

• Stone jets

• Faraway George
