Hirsch’s hosts stress management workshop

As part of their initiative that aims to involve the community, Hirsch's Strubens Valley hosted a stress management workshop on Thursday, 8 February.

Claire Buck was once again the individual who led the event, sharing a couple of tips on how to efficiently manage stress in day-to-day life.

According to Claire, the three main sources of stress are the environment, social stressors, and even your thoughts.

When referring to the environment, she not only refers to the natural environment, but also what you do from day-to-day.

This could be the route you take to work, your working environment or even your home environment.

Social stressors could be your friends, your colleagues, or even your family; basically anything in your social life, including social media.

Your thoughts speak for themselves. We are our own most powerful enemy, yet also our strongest ally.

Claire felt it important to stress the issue of acceptance as well, saying, “The problem is that if we don’t accept it, we are creating more emotions for ourselves and not moving forward. Basically we’re resisting what’s natural in life and that’s change. Nothing is permanent,” Claire said.

This was the second event that Hirsch’s Strubens Valley hosted in February, having previously hosting an office chair yoga and breathing workshop, also led by Claire.

Claire also acknowledged the fact that achieving self-love is no mean feat, especially in the society we live in today.

“I can’t say that achieving self love is easy. Society has not exactly made that easy for us,” Claire stated.

“Don’t rely on the social media likes you get and how many followers you have to bring a sense of self-worth to you. The image you create on social media is not you, there’s no person-to-person contact, and social media platforms don’t show the essence of who you truly are.”
