Electricians turn out to be thugs

The homeowner's vehicle was used to transport the stolen items.

A domestic worker fell prey to spurious electricians who turned out to be criminals. They held her at gunpoint and escaped with the car and valuables of a homeowner in Little Falls on 8 February.

According to Honeydew Police spokesperson, Captain Balan Muthan, at about 11am, the two men told the helper that they wanted to fix the home’s electricity but suddenly they pointed a firearm at her and ordered her ‘to behave’.

“They took items such as a television and a fax machine, among others and loaded the items into the silver Audi that belonged to the owner of the house.”

Muthan said the vehicle is fitted with a tracking device, but that there has been no confirmation as to its recovery or whether anyone has been arrested.
