Multiple multi-vehicle accidents on N1 leave several injured
Numerous vehicles were involved in three separate accidents on the N1 Northbound just after 14th Avenue today.
Earlier today, an accident occurred just after the N1 Northbound off-ramp at 14th Avenue (the exact circumstances surrounding this accident are unknown).

Due to this accident, traffic had already been backing up towards the off ramp.
During the cleanup of this accident, yet another one occurred when a truck failed to stop.
It is believed that the truck had turned onto the off-ramp when the driver noticed the traffic had come to a halt. He then attempted to brake but had not left himself enough distance to do so before the traffic.
The truck then ploughed into the traffic striking another truck, which in turn is believed to have struck another one just ahead.
At this stage, it is unknown how many cars were involved in the accident, but there were three trucks involved.
The driver of the truck that failed to stop is believed to have jumped out of the truck but it is unknown exactly when he did so.
Cleanup of the accident commenced at 11:00, and was completed by about 5.30pm.
During the cleanup process, another accident occurred involving three vehicles.
Yet again, the exact circumstances are unknown, but it is believed a vehicle failed to come to a stop before the still-standing traffic which was backed up due to the major accident.
No deaths have been reported, but more than 10 people were injured today.
