Buddies4Ever outreach

Outreach offers dog and cat vaccinations and much more.

Pet owners and their pets had an awesome day at the Buddies4Ever outreach event held at Beacon Isle shopping centre during the weekend.

The CEO, Riaan Greeff, said, “The great success we had with the event means we will be looking at doing it once every two weeks. At the outreach, we offer dog and cat vaccinations, deworming, sterilisation, grooming and micro-chipping. The turnout was so good that by noon we had run out of almost all the stock we had on hand.

“Buddies4Ever, together with Angels on Wheels and Pet Grooming and Animal Transport, which is based in the centre, assisted us with volunteers and collecting second-hand goods to sell at the outreaches for fundraising. Snoop Doggie Dog pet shop offered various deals to our clients on the outreach days and we worked together on this project,” he added.

Buddies4Ever also offers an ongoing skills project where senior citizens, whose only income is a Sassa grant, are trained in sewing, other crafts and skills of various kinds. These products are given to Buddies4Ever to sell on their behalf. This way they raise funds to continue offering discounted services and also to pay veterinary bills. This project is for unskilled people from all races, genders and backgrounds who want to learn a skill such as woodworking, sewing, animal care and so on.
