Roodepoort Police raid another illegal mining operation

No arrests made.

Yesterday (24 January), Roodepoort Police raided an illegal mining operation in Matholiesville.

They held the operation in conjunction with the Metro Police, the K9 Unit, the Flying Squad, Crime Intelligence and Joburg Water.

Although no arrests were made, a large amount of equipment was confiscated, including one cutting torch, three hammers, 54 phendukas, 39 stamper pots, 40 stampers, 214 balls, 105 empty plastic buckets, five wheelbarrows, 12 spades, six phenduka stands, one gas bottle, 14 Pikitup bins and stolen electric cables.
