Baby Moses needs community’s support

'We appreciate any and all support, as it greatly reduces our financial burden.'

The Baby Moses Sanctuary in Helderkruin has 150 children in its care, and needs the community’s support.

“We do not receive any other support, and in order for us to care for the children, we need the support and assistance of our community.

We appreciate any and all support, as it greatly reduces our financial burden,” said Lanie de Klerk.

This is what they need:

• Sponsors who can take the children on outings to the movies, for pizza, I-jump or to the local game reserve. “The children can be taken in groups of up to 20 children at a time. We would love to give our children experiences they will remember for a long time,” she said.

• Minor electrical work at the Krugersdorp home, as there is a defective outlet in the girls’ room, and the doorbell is also faulty.

• Summer clothes for children, as well as sponsors for school clothing for the new year.

• The daycare centre is in need of milk powder, sugar, maize meal, Morvite enriched cereal, soy mince as well as bread spreads.

• Anything that can be used at the daycare centre, from sandpits and outdoor toys to stationery.

• If anyone can help with back-to-school stationery, it will be appreciated.

• Some of the children have outgrown their kiddies bicycles, and would love to have a bigger one – old or secondhand bicycles and helmets will be greatly appreciated.

According to Lanie, they always welcome financial contributions, and they offer a variety of ways for the community to do so:

• To pay by debit order is easy, just download the form from their website (www.babymoses.co.za). Then complete, sign, scan and email it, or fax it to 0865 129 342.

• Donations can also be paid into their bank account at either Nedbank Westgate, account number 1357091427, branch code 135705 or First National Bank Village @ Horizon, account number 62409736892, branch code 250409. Both are cheque accounts.

For more information, contact Lanie on 072 114 7863 or Christo on 082 559 5070.
