Assault and burglaries labelled as a concern

Masedi made his appeal after a concerning number of assault cases and burglaries in the area have come to his attention.

Muldersdrift police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Masedi Masedi has urged residents to report crime at their local police station instead of taking matters into their own hands.

Masedi made his appeal after a concerning number of assault cases and burglaries in the area have come to his attention.

“We are concerned about the assault cases being laid at the station. We urge our people to handle problems in a manner that does not involve fighting,” he said.

Most of these assault cases – some of them domestic-related – could have risen from the festive season, Masedi speculated.

To help prevent burglaries, Masedi urged homeowners to ensure that their homes are locked and under guard when going to work or on holiday.
