Truck overturns on Christiaan de Wet Road after tyre burst

According to BCI Security personnel who were at the scene along with other emergency response units, the truck had a tyre blowout, causing it to overturn.

A truck driver was rushed to hospital after sustaining injuries when his truck overturned between Christiaan de Wet and Hendrik Potgieter Roads in Clearwater this morning, 11 January.

“The driver was trapped in the cab. An ER24 rescue team cut out the windscreen and took the patient out,” explained Gary Jordaan, BCI’s media liaison officer, adding that the man was then transported to hospital for further treatment.

EMS and the Fire Department, Help24, Honeydew CPF, QRS and Netcare 911 were at the scene to assist.
