A Witpoortjie resident, Grietjie Koekemoer, posted a video on Facebook showing how her brother’s car was stolen.
According to the post, the car, a white Nissan Sentra with registration number FSX 577 GP, was parked in the Witpoortjie Pick n Pay parking lot, under the watchful eye of a car guard. Despite this, the car thieves, driving a silver VW, pulled into the parking space next to the Sentra, and had enough to time to go about their business – without any interference.
The video shows how the would-be car thief gets out of the VW, scopes out the area, and then looks through the Sentra’s window. He then takes something from his back pocket, and within seconds opens the door, ready to drive away.
