Eight people were injured in an accident on Ontdekkers Road this morning (3 January).
The accident happened near the Christian de Wet intersection, when a light motor vehicle rear-ended a minibus taxi.
ER24 paramedics, along with other emergency services found both vehicles in the left lane of the road. The minibus taxi’s passengers had already exited the vehicle and some were walking around.

“Paramedics assessed the victims and found that eight adults had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries or fatalities,” said Russell Meiring, ER24 spokesperson.
The patients were treated on scene before they were transported to Helen Joseph Hospital for further treatment.
Local authorities were also on scene, and the incident will be investigated.
