Plea for books lands in the right hands

On 7 December Reading Matters donated two boxes packed with reading books to Football Without Borders in Zandspruit.

A leading distributor and supplier of educational books and resources in South Africa, Reading Matters, recently heeded the plea made by Football Without Borders for reading books to better equip their reading programme.

On 7 December, Reading Matters donated two boxes packed with reading books. “Lois Mckay saw our article in the Roodepoort Northsider newspaper and donated the books on behalf of Reading Matters, an organisation based in the south of Johannesburg,” said Michael Mapfunde, the founder of the Zandspruit-based organisation.

His non-profit organisation aims to fight social ills by means of sport and education.

Michael told Northsider that the books will assist in their book club and extension of their programme.

“The books will assist us in the running of our reading club and also assist us in Kromdraai, which is where we will be extending our programme to,” a grateful Michael explained.
