Organisation in need of sponsors to survive
Funding for 42 children needed
“We find ourselves in dire straits and on a survival level, having to depend on the community’s generosity and kindness,” said Gail Heslop.
Gail is from the Wings of Inspiration Care Centre, a Non-profit Company (NPC) situated in Helderkruin. “We are running a sponsorship programme for the children we care for, as we do not receive any subsidy from the government. We rely on companies and individuals for assistance to keep our babies and children in a loved and cared for environment,” she said.
The centre consists of two crisis centres where 77 babies and children are cared for. Forty-two of these children are orphans, ranging in age from newborn to 17. With donations and sponsorships, the centre will be able to create and provide good education, medical care and a stimulating, empowering, nurturing and uplifting environment for them.
“We also have a playschool, for which we are struggling to secure sponsors, either in the form of cash donations or assistance with renovations of the building,” said Gail.
She explained that, due to loss of sponsors, they need to secure funding for 42 of the children in their care. “If you can help with an amount of R2 100 per child, it will be sufficient to care for a child’s needs for two months. We would also like to spoil the children in our care with a Christmas lunch as well as a small Christmas gift, as it is something that they have never experienced before. Please keep in mind that we accept any amount, no matter how big or small,” she said.
All donations received will be used for the children’s education, food, clothing and medical care. The centre will issue any donor with a Section 18A tax exemption certificate as well as a BEE Level 4 certificate, which will contribute to the company’s rating and scoring accreditation.
