One arrested during vehicle recovery

Gary Jordaan from BCI Security indicated that they were alerted to a suspicious vehicle at the Makro car park on Hendrik Potgieter Road.

A suspect was arrested and a suspected stolen vehicle was recovered on 12 December at a busy retailer in Strubens Valley.

Gary Jordaan from BCI Security indicated that they were alerted to a suspicious vehicle in the Makro car park.

“Upon investigation, it was found that this vehicle was stolen and also wanted in connection with other criminal offences,” he said.

“Our officers observed the vehicle from a distance for over an hour and a half until the suspect returned to the vehicle. Then, with the assistance of a member of a rescue team, they apprehended the suspect,” he explained.

Jordaan added that police from the West Rand were dispatched to assist in the arrest. “Members of the Jhb West Trio Task Team were on standby and once the suspect was detained, they arrested him and took him to a police station for further questioning and profiling,” he concluded.
