Spring Road bridge participation review plea

Public review available from 15 November 2017 to 15 December 2017, Ward 126 councillor David Brand announced.

 

Public participation is now needed in the review of the Basic Assessment Process and Water Use Licence application process for the proposed upgrades of the Spring Road Bridge in Weltevreden Park.

Ward 126 councillor, David Brand, recently announced that the bridge upgrade was now at the stage of Basic Assessment and Application for a Water Use Licence.

“A Draft Basic Assessment Report has been prepared by Envirolution Consulting and will be available for public review from 15 November 2017 to 15 December 2017,” he explained.

This bridge was closed off early this year after it was damaged by a heavy storm. The integrity of the structure could not be guaranteed, resulting in it being barricaded closed.

Brand disclosed the venues and channels available to the public for reviews. “Please note that a copy of the Draft Basic Assessment Report is available for public review at the Weltevreden Park Library on Fern Street, relevant provincial and local municipalities, on Dropbox and via CD copy, delivered at one’s request,” he said.
