At about 6.10pm yesterday (22 November) the Engen fuel station on Generaal Pienaar Avenue in Witpoortjie fell prey to an armed robbery.
Three men in a white BMW X3 waited until most of the customers had left the convenience store and then went inside. One of the suspects was armed. They held up the cashier and took the cash from the till. They then fled the scene.

According to one source, the three armed robbers committed their crime with such stealth that the customers who were still in the store did not even realise that an armed robbery was in progress.
