Man allegedly shoots wife, then himself

Rumour has it that a child was also shot.

At approximately 2.30pm on Sunday (19 November) Netcare 911 responded to reports of a shooting on Progress Avenue in the Lindhaven area.

At the scene its advanced life support paramedics attended to a man who was in a critical condition. Due to the severity of his injuries, the location of the incident as well as the specialist treatment the victim required, the Netcare 911 helicopter was called to the scene to airlift him to a specialised Trauma Unit in Johannesburg. The patient was placed on a ventilator and then rapidly transported to the hospital where staff members were awaiting his arrival.

Reports from the scene indicated that a woman had also been shot, however she was treated and transported by another ambulance service.
