National Loosen Up, Lighten Up Day

Enjoy life's chaos with a smile on #NationalLoosenUpLightenUpDay

“It’s nice if people can finally loosen up a little bit and just go out and laugh at silliness. I mean, people take themselves way too seriously sometimes.” – Larry, the Cable Guy.

14 November is National Loosen Up, Lighten Up Day – a reminder to just let go and enjoy life’s chaos with a smile.

Every new day is a new lap in the rat-race called life, resulting in us being so caught up that we lace ourselves a little tight.

“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” – Ferris Bueller.

If you have never seen the movie, Ferris Bueller’s Day Out, now is the time to change that. The whole movie is dedicated to the concept of loosening and lightening up and the amazing things it can add to your life.

Trying to control everything in your life – which can easily get out of control – puts unnecessary stress into your life. Instead of worrying and obsessing over every tiny detail of your life, loosen up and lighten up. This will remind you that it is okay to sometimes just let things slide.

To celebrate today, start by letting go of those things causing unnecessary stress. Start the day by not worrying about being late for work. If you must, take things in your own time, drive casually without rushing through traffic and, if someone cuts you off – just laugh it off and continue on your journey.

Today you should let go of the things that normally drive you up the wall – let it slide and be free of the pain and worry – even if it is just for one day.
