It seems that the strange November snow is likely to affect Roodepoort.
According to Snow Report’s Facebook page, there will be snow in various parts of the country on Wednesday and Thursday (15 and 16 November). The post reads as follows: “We are expecting the first snow to fall late on Tuesday night over the high ranges in the eastern parts of the Western Cape, and in the Sneeuberge of the Eastern Cape.

By early afternoon on Wednesday, we should see substantial snowfalls over the Eastern Cape Drakensberg and surrounds, and by Wednesday evening, snowfalls in the Eastern Cape Drakensberg areas should extend to include some of the lower-lying towns.
At the same time, snowfalls will commence throughout most of Lesotho, and into some high-lying areas around Kokstad and Matatiele, with light falls possible in KZN around Underberg and Himeville, and possibly even towards Bulwer by Thursday morning.
There is a chance that some light falls could extend into the Clarens area of the Free State during the early hours of Thursday morning. The Harrismith/Van Reenen’s Pass area might also get some snow, but this is just a possibility at this stage. By Thursday evening, most snowfalls should cease as the moisture is pushed out to sea.”

According to Meteorologist Kobus Botha’s web page, this will have a noticeable effect on Roodepoort’s temperatures. Temperatures will drop from a maximum of 23° on Wednesday to a maximum of 16° on Thursday but will rise again as of Friday with a maximum of 21° and a maximum of 27° on Saturday.
