Accident gives new meaning to ‘car pooling’

Man swerved for another vehicle.

Although yesterday was a hot day, an unfortunate driver probably was not intending to cool of in the manner he did.

The 33-year-old man sustained moderate injuries when he crashed his vehicle through a residential wall and landed in a swimming pool in Hamberg yesterday (2 November) afternoon.

Shortly after 4pm, paramedics from ER24 arrived on the scene where they found the man walking around. His bakkie was found completely submerged in the residential swimming pool. Paramedics assessed the man and found that he sustained a possible hand injury and multiple cuts and bruises.

It is understood that he swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle and lost control of his vehicle before crashing through the wall on Albertina Sisulu Road.

He was later transported to Life Flora Clinic for further care.

The Johannesburg Metro Police Department attended the scene.
