Pharmacy adds Medical Centre to facilities

The Helderkruin Pharmacy has launched the Dixon Medical Centre as a new addition to their already impressive facilities.

The Helderkruin Pharmacy has launched the Dixon Medical Centre as a new addition to its already impressive facilities.

The Centre, together with the Cup Cakes for Hope Cancer organisation, joined forces, not only to launch the new offices, but also to raise awareness of their causes and inform members of the public about the services available to them.

Pharmacy and Centre owner, Deon van Rensburg, clarified the reason for the launch.

“We are always there for the community, where there’s a need for good service without waiting long periods to get it, plus, with a sporting background, there’s a need for a sports rehabilitation and improvement facility in the area. That’s where the opportunity came from. Everywhere we can help, whether it’s a fundraiser or to make an impact – we are here to help.”

Deon explained the reason for the fundraising awareness campaign with Cup Cakes for Hope as well. “I’ve also got kids and cancer is something that nobody wants, so we definitely support it. For me, it’s about working with other organisations in the hopes of building strong relationships with one another. As I said, cancer is very common these days and its treatment is expensive, so we really want to help those organisations to get funding. We’ll really join hands with anybody that wants to raise funds. There’s also a connection between the services we offer in the Centre and the whole issue of fundraising for medical purposes.”

“We currently have two General Practitioners, a Physiotherapist, a Biokineticist, and a Nutritionist at the Centre. Within about a month, we’ll also have a Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber, to provide oxygen therapy under pressure to people who have had strokes, suffer from autism and diabetes, and need wound care and sports rehabilitation. This makes the chamber an asset to the Centre and the area. The chamber will be connected to the pharmacy, which adds to the convenience,” said Deon.
