Adies celebrate culture

Hoërskool Die Adelaar celebrated its 2017 culture programme, recognising the vast talent among the learners.

Hoërskool Die Adelaar celebrated its 2017 culture programme, during the Culture Awards Ceremony, recognising the vast talent among the learners.

The learners had the opportunity to show how they had made a name for themselves by performing their award-winning pieces before receiving certificates and trophies for their accomplishments.

• Azukiswa Msindwana – Culture Learner of the Year; Debate – Best Speaker in the District (trophy); Debate – Gauteng Debating League Top Speaker (trophy); Debate – 2nd Best Speaker in the Constitution Hill Tournament (trophy and certificate); Debate – District Junior Team Captain; Debate – Gauteng Province Best Speaker (glass shield trophy and certificate); Debate – National Team Trialist (medal)

• Gcobisa Ziki – Debate – Top 5 Speaker in Constitution Hill Tournament (trophy and certificate) and Debate – Provincial Quarter Finalist (medal)

• Lindiwe Khumalo – Most Promising Debater in Grade 8 (glass shield trophy)

• Adelaar Senior Team – Trophy: District Winners

• Vocal Group – District Winners

• Choir – District Winners

• Nyameka Mbola –– Trophy for Public Speaking

• Ntsako Hlahleni –– Trophy for Unprepared Reading

• Mjabu Ndlovu –– Trophy for Dramatised Poetry; trophy for Informal Poetry; and trophy for Segarona Learner of the Year

• Kgomotso Morake – Trophy for Formal Poetry

• Tshedza Muthumuni – Trophy for Visual Arts – Senior Phase

• Lyndon DuSart – Trophy for Visual Arts – FET Phase, and trophy for Graphic Design – FET Phase

• Hlongwane Khensani –– Trophy for Group Dancing (shared)
