Divine Foundation reaches out to community

Newly launched charity Divine Intervention Foundation have opened their hearts and doors to the public.

Newly launched charity, Divine Intervention Foundation have opened their hearts and doors to the public as they march forward in their bid to help the less fortunate. Members of this passionate Christian-based organisation believe that they can make a positive impact on the lives of others through the God’s divine intervention.

Foundation chairperson Theo Pei described the group’s mission and vision. He said, “The global economic meltdown has impacted us all and this has evidently resulted in growing unemployment, homelessness and food insecurity. Due to these circumstances, our Foundation has committed to helping the needy, elderly citizens, women and children. Our mission statement is a reflection of this as we seek to provide in basic human needs, such as food, clothes and shelter to disadvantaged and marginalised individuals and families. Our mainstay is to help develop and train individuals, as well as communities towards self-reliance and independence.”

The Florida-based group shares the current projects in the community and asks for any donations and volunteers to get involved in their cause.

“The Foundation currently provides for 44 children. Our most urgent need at present is for our children to be sponsored at R1 500 per child per month. This includes food, scholarship and transportation. The residence in Fleurhof they currently live in, needs a lot of TLC. Any amount towards this project to help these children will be highly appreciated,” said Theo.

“The Government and Department of Social Development, as well as the Department of Housing have distanced themselves from this situation,” he added.
