Westgate Donor Centre celebrates eleventh birthday
The South African National Blood Service is celebrating its Westgate branch’s birthday as the Donor Centre turns 11.
The South African National Blood Service is celebrating its Westgate branch’s birthday as the Donor Centre turns 11.
The association has played an intricate part in the medical field and has lived up to its aim of collecting 3 000 units of blood per day to ensure a safe and sufficient blood supply in the health care system.
As a life-saving initiative, the organisation welcomes the public to come in and donate blood. Donors are encouraged to stay and enjoy the celebration, while refreshments will be offered to all. The event will run from the 16–20 October at the Westgate Donor Centre. The branch has extended their hours to 8.30am to 7pm Monday to Friday to accommodate blood donors.
