One killed in Maraisburg accident

A pedestrian was killed on the N1 South before the Maraisburg offramp during the late afternoon of 10 October.
According to Ineke van Huyssteen, spokesperson for ER24, paramedics arrived at the scene at 5:46pm. “The man was lying in the fast lane of the highway. Upon assessment, paramedics found that the man showed no signs of life. Unfortunately, he had succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead at the scene,” she said.

The exact circumstances of the incident are not known, but local authorities were on scene and further investigations will be carried out.
